Women’s Empowerment Principles - WEPs

Women’s Empowerment Principles platform is one of the most prominent global initiatives of the private sector, aiming for the empowerment of women in order to enable them to have a place within the economic life, in all sectors and all levels.

The WEPs platform, was established in 2010, under the partnership of UN Global Compact and UN Women.

Women’s Empowerment Principles platform adopts 7 core principles. These are:

  • Establish high-level corporate leadership for gender equality

  • Treat all women and men fairly at work – respect and support human rights and nondiscrimination

  • Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all women and men workers

  • Promote education, training and professional development for women

  • Implement enterprise development, supply chain and marketing practices that empower women

  • Promote equality through community initiatives and advocacy

Measure and publicly report on progress to achieve gender equality Rönesans, having made a public commitment to these 7 principles since February 2016, aims to increase environmental and social corporate policies that will advance social gender equality.

Women’s Empowerment Principles, having stipulated the techniques, tools and implementations that will bring results towards increasing the transparency and comprehensiveness in Rönesans Holding’s policies and activities, has also developed a gender “lens” that will enable Rönesans Holding to study and analyze their existing applications, performance indicators and reporting practices.
